How do I use Continuum for the first time?

Install Continuum from the Chrome Web Store, open a ChatGPT or Claude conversation, create or select a Continuum project, attach the current conversation, generate a Smart Handoff, then choose the destination for the fresh chat.

Why is Continue unavailable?

Continuum only enables a resume when the required project, attached session and Smart Handoff are present. If Continuity Check reports a blocking condition, resolve the missing state first instead of forcing a migration.

What should I try if a resume fails?

• Keep the source conversation available and do not delete it.
• Confirm that the current conversation is attached to the intended Continuum project.
• If the source conversation changed after the handoff, generate a fresh Smart Handoff.
• Reload the provider page and retry only after Continuum reports a stable state.
• Read any Continuity Check warning before starting another resume.

Does Context Health show the real model context window?

No. Context Health is a local Continuum estimate designed to help decide when a fresh conversation may be useful. It is not a context-window measurement reported by ChatGPT or Claude.

Are attached files moved automatically?

Not necessarily. Continuum can identify file references in project continuity, but a file that is not available in the destination conversation must be attached again. Continuum should not imply that an unavailable file was transferred.

Where is my Continuum data stored?

The current public build stores structured Continuum data in chrome.storage.local. It is local to the Chrome profile, is not a cloud backup and is not encrypted by Continuum.

What information is useful when reporting a problem?

Share the Continuum version, the route used (for example ChatGPT → Claude), the step that failed and the error shown. Do not send conversation text, prompts, transcripts, authentication tokens or private project content.
